Who we are
About Us — Who Runs Check SIM Owners Details
Check SIM Owners Details (checksimownersdetails.pk) is an independent Pakistani consumer guide to one narrow subject: how to check the SIMs registered on your own CNIC, using only the official channels that PTA and the operators actually provide — 668, cnic.sims.pk, 667 and 76367. We are not affiliated with PTA, NADRA, NCCIA or any mobile operator, and we do not offer any lookup tool of any kind.
Why this site exists
Every month, hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis search for “SIM owner details”, “SIM database” or “live tracker” — and most of what they find is either outdated, copied from other websites without checking, or actively dangerous: fake “owner name by number” apps and portals that harvest the very CNIC and phone numbers people type into them. Meanwhile the genuinely useful facts — that a free official portal exists, that the SIM limit is 8 and not 25, that an unknown SIM on your CNIC can be formally disowned in an afternoon — sit scattered across PTA pages, operator FAQs and court reporting.
This site puts the verified, dated, official version of that information in one place, in plain Pakistani English and Roman-Urdu. Nothing more. If a question cannot be answered through an official channel, we say so plainly rather than pretending otherwise.
What we will never do
- No stranger lookups. We will never tell you a stranger’s name or address from a phone number — no legal tool in Pakistan does that, and unauthorised access to identity information is an offence under PECA 2016 Section 16 (up to 3 years’ imprisonment, a fine of up to Rs 5 million, or both).
- No lookup forms or widgets. You will never find a box on this site asking you to enter a CNIC or phone number. We store nothing because we collect nothing.
- No links to “SIM database” sites or apps. We name the categories of scam so you can recognise them, but we never link to them.
- No unsourced claims. Every figure on this site carries a named source and a date, and is re-verified before major updates.
Who is behind the site
Muhammad Hayan is the founder and editor. He has spent years building consumer-information websites for Pakistani audiences and started this project after watching family members nearly hand their CNIC copies to a fake “SIM check” service. He personally runs every official method documented here — the 668 SMS, the cnic.sims.pk portal, the 667 MNP check and the 76367 network check — on real Pakistani SIMs before any step-by-step guide is published or updated.
Editorial decisions follow one test: would we advise our own family to do this? If the answer is no, it does not go on the site.
How we verify what we publish
Our full methodology lives on the Editorial Standards page, but in short:
- Primary sources first: PTA notices and publications, Supreme Court reporting, operator help pages, and the official portals themselves.
- Live testing: SMS codes and portals are re-tested on active SIMs, and guides carry the date of the last test.
- Myth-checking: viral claims (like the fake “limit cut to 6” story) are checked against PTA’s own record and credible press — Dawn, ProPakistani, Express Tribune — before we label them true or false.
- Dated corrections: when a fee, code or rule changes, the page is updated and the review date is refreshed.
What this site covers
- Checking the SIMs on your own CNIC via 668 and cnic.sims.pk, and what the replies mean.
- Verifying the SIM in your hand via 667, and a number’s current network via 76367.
- The 8-SIM limit (5 voice + 3 data, Supreme Court of Pakistan, 5 November 2015) and what to do when your count looks wrong.
- Disowning an unknown SIM at the franchise, and complaining to PTA (complaint.pta.gov.pk, 0800-55055) or the NCCIA cyber helpline 1799.
- Honest explanations of why “owner name by number” services cannot be real — and what lawful step actually solves the problem behind that search.
Independence & funding
The site is self-funded. We currently run no sponsorships and accept no payment from any operator, agency or “SIM service”. If advertising is ever introduced, it will be clearly distinguishable from content and will never include SIM-lookup services — that category is barred permanently, whatever it pays. Our Disclaimer and Terms & Conditions spell out the legal detail.
Corrections
If anything on this site is out of date or wrong, we want to know. Write to us via the Contact page with the page link and the correct information (an official source helps). Verified corrections are applied to the page itself with an updated review date — not buried in a changelog.
Roman-Urdu khulasa
Roman-Urdu: Yeh site aik azaad (independent) Pakistani guide hai jo sirf yeh sikhati hai ke apne CNIC par register SIMs ko official tareeqon se kaise check karein — 668 SMS, cnic.sims.pk portal, 667 aur 76367. Hum PTA, NADRA ya kisi operator ke sath affiliated nahin hain, aur hum kisi ajnabi ka naam ya address number se batane wali koi service nahin dete — aisi service Pakistan me qanooni tor par mumkin hi nahin (PECA 2016, Section 16). Site ke banane wale Muhammad Hayan hain, jo har tareeqa khud apni SIMs par test karte hain. Har fact ka source aur date page par likha hota hai. Ghalti nazar aaye to Contact page se zaroor batayen.
